DOVER, DELAWARE (3/6/2015) The Delaware State Police and the American Legion are accepting applications for the 44th Trooper Youth Week, which is June 22-26.
This is a live-in academy designed to give high school students who are interested in law enforcement an opportunity to experience the rigors of training that police officers receive at the Delaware State Police Academy.
The students are selected from a competitive pool and required to participate in physical training as well as classroom instruction ranging from crime scene to collision investigations.
The program sponsored by the American Legion of Delaware is facilitated by uniformed troopers assigned to the academy.
High school seniors, juniors and sophomores may apply by contacting a school resource officer or the Trooper Youth Week Coordinator at the Training Academy at dsptyw@state.de.us or 302-672-5459.
Completed applications must be submitted to Cpl. Christopher Martin via the DSP Academy, 1441 N. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901 no later than 3 p.m. May 15.
