5 charged in Bear heroin sales

BEAR, DELAWARE (2/27/2015) Five men were charged with selling heroin after police seized more than 1,400 bags of the drug after searching two homes in Bear, state police said Thursday.

Troopers raided a home in the first block of Burns Way in the Taylortowne neighborhood on Tuesday and took Denzel Wright, 21; Larry Foraker, 27; Michael Miller, 40; Denroy Chambers, 23; and Lloyd Price, 20, all residents of the Bear-Newark area, into custody without incident.

A 2-year-old girl who is a relative of Foraker, who rented the home, was put in the custody of the state Division of Family Services.

Detectives found 812 bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia in the home, Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale said.

A search of Wright’s home a few blocks away, in the 6700 block of Wyeth Place at the Village of Canterbury apartments, turned up 650 bags of heroin and $1,223 cash, Hale said.

All five were charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin in Tier 4 quantity, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. Wright also was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin in a Tier 5 quantity.

All were being held at Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington in lieu of secured bail which was set at $122,500 for Wright, $5,100 for Foraker, $26,000 for Miller, $41,000 for Chambers and $41,000 for Price.
