WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (2/17/2015) Flooding caused by a broken sprinkler system will force the closing of Bayard Middle School until Monday, Feb. 23, officials announced today.
The flooding was reportedly discovered by a passerby Monday night who noticed lights flashing inside the building at 200 S. Dupont St. and water streaming from upper floor windows.
The Christina School District announced three make-up days will be added for Bayard students — during spring break on April 8, 9 and 10.
“Individual scheduling issues will be addressed, and a process for parents to communicate scheduling conflicts will be developed and communicated next week,” according to an announcement on the school website, which termed the damage “significant.”
