Robber flees when BP clerk shoots at him

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (1/20/2015) A masked robber fled empty-handed when a gas-station employee fired a gun at the bandit, state police said.

The incident happened just before 6 p.m. Monday in the BP station at 4001 Lancaster Pike, north of the city limits.

The robber approached the employee and indicated he was armed but didn’t show a weapon, then demanded money from the register.

The clerk then fired at the robber but police didn’t know if he was wounded.

The 32-year-old employee wasn’t hurt.

The robber was described as 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-8 and 200-220 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and dark sneakers.
