UPDATED STORY: Cortez Hamilton indicted on first-degree murder charge

SMYRNA, DELAWARE (1/14/2015) A 32-year-old man found in Indiana after an Amber Alert was issued for his two young children, who were with him, has waived extradition and will be returned to Delaware, state police said Tuesday.

Cortez Hamilton Sr., of the Smyrna area, was being held in Warrick County Jail in Indiana on warrants from Delaware charging him with assault with bodily injury and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Indiana State Police said.

Delaware State Police are continuing to search for Keisha S. Hamilton, 35, who was last seen at her home on East Cayhill Lane in the Twin Willows development south of Smyrna late Friday. Police issued a Gold Alert for her after Cortez Hamilton Sr. and the two children were found safe Saturday.
