2 residents assaulted in home invasion

TOWNSEND, DELAWARE (1/14/2015) Two residents were assaulted during a home invasion in Townsend, state police reported today.

The three male robbers forced their way into the home in the 600 block of South St. about 3:10 a.m. Tuesday.

One of the intruders, armed with a handgun, confronted a 34-year-old woman and demanded money.

As she complied, two other residents, a 38-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, arrived home and the robbers hid inside the home, then assaulted the pair after they came inside.

The three were last seen running toward Dexter Corner Road.

Two injured residents were transported to the Middletown Emergency Room where they were treated. There were no other injuries.

Two of the suspects were 5’06”-5’07” tall and weighed between 140-150 lbs., were wearing all dark clothing, and had masks covering their faces. The third suspect was described as being 6’00”-6’02” tall and weighed between 170-180 lbs. He was also dressed in all dark clothing, and had a mask covering his face.
