Wilmington police arrest man after store robbed at gunpoint

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (1/12/2015) City police have arrested a suspect in the armed robbery of a convenience store.

The robbery happened  just before 10 p.m. Friday at the King Star Convenience Store, 2711 Lancaster Ave. The robber held a handgun and demanded cash from the clerk, who complied.  The robber then fled.

Detectives developed Willie L. Corbin, 24, of Wilmington, as a suspect, police said,  and he was arrested Saturday in the 2800 block of W. Second St. for an active warrant.

Detective Robert Fox, after a search and interviews, charged Corbin with robbery, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and by a person prohibited, wearing a disguise and aggravated menacing.

Corbin was being held at Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $76,000 cash bail.
