CLAYMONT, DELAWARE (1/9/2015) Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash this evening on northbound I-95 near Harvey Road, authorities said. One of the injured is in critical condition and the other in serious condition.
The accident was reported at 6:47 p.m. and closed the northbound lanes as state police investigated. Motorists were asked to seek alternate routes.
The driver, a 40-year-old man, was ejected from the vehicle after it struck a median barrier and rolled over. He was flown to Christiana Hospital by state police helicopter in critical condition, said Sgt. Michael McColley of New Castle County paramedics.
The passenger, a 34-year-old woman, was trapped in the vehicle. She was extricated and was taken to the hospital by ambulance in serious condition, McColley said.
