Wilmington police make burglary, drug, gun arrests

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (12/19/2014) City police announced three recent arrests involving a burglary and weapons.

Around 10 p.m. Sunday, police said, Cpl. Tavis Miller stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of E. Front St. for traffic violations. The driver, Ryhime Malloy, 24, of Wilmington, was found to have an active warrant and was arrested without incident. Police said a 22 caliber revolver was found in the vehicle. Malloy was  charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibitied, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and traffic counts.

About 8:15 p.m. Sunday, officers investigating reports of suspicious people ringing doorbells encountered three individuals in the area of 13th and Basset streets. Police said one of them, Ernest Lewis, 21, of Wilmington, was found to be in possession of a .45 caliber handgun as well as 130 bags of heroin. He was charged with possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

About 3 a.m. Saturday, Cpl. John Fleming, responding to a burglary complaint in the 700 block of S. Lincoln St., arrested Miguel Castaneds-Vergara, 21, of Wilmington in rear of a home where police said he was trying to enter. He was charged with attempted burglary and criminal mischief.
