GEORGETOWN, DELAWARE (12/16/2014) A man fired shots at a store near Georgetown after coming up empty handed in a robbery attempt, state police said today.
The incident happened about 8:45 p.m. Monday at The Corner Store in the first block of Ebony St., in the County Seat Gardens Mobile Home Park.
Two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the store and confronted a 40-year-old clerk, demanding money. But the man refused and the suspects fled – with the armed man firing shots as they left. One shot struck the building but there were no injuries.
The gunman was 5-feet-11 to 6-feet with black hair and brown eyes. The other robber was 5-feet-8 and heavyset, with black hair and brown eyes.
