37-year-old man in serious condition after Wilmington shooting

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (11/26/2014) A 37-year-old man is in serious but stable condition after being shot this morning, officials report.

The latest city shooting happened about 9:30 a.m. in the first block of E. 23rd St.

Neighbors reported hearing 6 gunshots. Police said they were alerted by numerous callers and their gunshot detection system.

New Castle County paramedics treated the man and he was taken to Christiana Hospital by St. Francis ambulance, according to Sgt. Michael A. McColley, a spokesman for emergency medical services.

Police said the victim was shot in the lower back.

They said they have no suspects and asked anyone with information to call 302-576-3620.

On Tuesday, three people were wounded in two separate incidents, and two others were shot — one fatally — over the weekend in the city.
