MILTON, DELAWARE (11/24/2014) A 20-year-old man was killed and a teenager critically wounded in a shooting in Milton early today, state police report.
The man killed was identified as Rogelio Martinez Hernandez of Milton.
The shooting happened about 2:40 a.m. at the Park Royal Apartments, 501 Palmer St.
A Milton town officer responding to a 911 call reporting shots fired found the two victims in a vehicle parked outside the 400 building at the complex.
He provided first aid until Sussex County parmedics and medics arrived.
Both victims were taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where Hernandez was pronounced dead.
Police said they would not release the name of the 14-year-old nor his relationship with Hernandez.
Milton police asked Delaware State Police to take over the investigation, which is ongoing.
