The accident happened about 8:10 p.m. Thursday as Chilel-Chun was driving a 1996 Honda Odyssey minivan westbound on Hardscrabble Road (State Route 20) just east of Country Living Road (Sussex Route 433).

The minivan crossed the center line and struck the front of a 2006 Lexus GX470, driven by Dellamarie  H. Keyes, 54, of Lewes.

Chilel-Chun was pronounced dead at the scene.

Keyes was taken by ambulance to Beebe Healthcare’s hospital in Lewes, where she was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.

Police said they don’t know why Chilel-Chun’s minivan crossed the center line, but troopers are continuing to investigate. They said charges are not expected.

“Alcohol use is being considered as a factor in this crash,” police said in a news release.

Police said both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Hardscrabble Road was closed about 3 hours as police investigated and the wreckage was cleared.
