DOVER, DELAWARE (11/21/2014) The suspect in a Dover home invasion was arrested after city police received a tip on the department’s Facebook page.
Erick Wyatte was arrested after they went to an apartment in the 700 block of Bacon Avenue just before 8 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Police said a woman refused to let them into the apartment and they left but remained nearby and saw a man leave the apartment and flee on foot to a wooded area, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dreadlock wig to disguise his identity.
A Capitol Police K-9 unit found the wig at the rear of a home in the 800 block of Bacon Avenue, where Wyatte was arrested inside without incident just after 9 p.m.
Wyatte was being held at Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna in lieu of $271,000 secured bond.
The home invasion occurred Saturday in the 700 block of Bacon Avenue. Police said they identified Wyatte after he dropped his wallet while fleeing.
Latoya Clark, 27, was charged with hindering prosecution for refusing to allow officers inside the apartment Wednesday, police said.
