DELAWARE (1/22/22015) A little more snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain, may make this morning’s commute a bit messy. And much more snow is predicted over the weekend.

The National Weather Service is predicting up to half an inch of snow may accumulate before 8 a.m. across the state, on top of Wednesday’s snowfall, which dumped as much as 2.7 inches on parts of the state.

A winter weather advisory is in effect statewide until 8 a.m., when temperatures are expected to rise above freezing and eventually reach the low 40s as a sunny sky emerges.

DelDOT lowered the speed limit on I-495 to 55 mph.

More snow and sleet is in the forecast for Friday night and Saturday, with as much as 5 inches accumulation possible, according to the weather service.

Some schools are opening late today due to the slippery driving conditions.
