Tree topples in Wilmington; Miller Road closed

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (12/1/2014) A large tree crushed a Volvo when it toppled about 6:30 a.m. today, also taking down wires and several utility poles.

The tree fell in the 800 block of W. 32nd St., also striking a house.

Police closed the area of 32nd Street as well as Miller Road from Baynard Boulevard to 34th Street.

Police said they expect Miller Road to be closed all day.

City police, fire and forestry crews are working to remove the tree.

No power outage was reported and there were no injuries.
