PRICES CORNER, DELAWARE (12/17/2015) The robber of an Exxon gas station in Prices Corner ran off with the cash register after struggling with the clerk early today, Delaware State Police said.
The incident happened at 2007 Newport Gap Pike (Route 41), at the Kirkwood Highway (Route 2) intersection.
The robber, described as a white man about 50 years old, announced a robbery, ran behind the counter and demanded money from the cash register.
He then removed the register from the counter, police said, and ran out.
The male clerk followed him into the parking lot and briefly struggled with the robber, who escaped and fled south with the register.
The clerk wasn’t hurt. No weapon was displayed or implied, police said.
The robber, about 5-feet-9 to 5-feet-10, had a thin build and was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, blue pants and brown shoes.
