BEAR, DELAWARE (12/6/2015) A 32-year-old man was subdued with a stun gun after an argument between two people brought troopers to the Hibachi Japanese Restaurant, the Delaware State Police said Saturday.

The incident happened about 8 p.m. Friday at 1160 Pulaski Highway (U.S. 40).

Police said one of those involved, Michael D. King of Newark, was standing in the lobby when troopers arrived and attempted to walk out when they approached.

He was stopped by troopers and then attempted to walk into the dining room but was stopped again, police said, and he appeared to be intoxicated.

Police said King again attempted to flee but troopers grabbed the back of his shirt to detain him, then noticed a black handgun tucked into the rear waistband of his pants.

King then began to struggle with the troopers, police said, but was taken into custody after the stun gun was used. A Hi-Point Firearms .380 caliber handgun was taken from him, police said.

King was was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, resisting arrest  and possession of a firearm by an intoxicated person. He was being held at Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington in lieu of $16,500  cash bail.
