Suspect charged in Artisans’ Bank, other robberies

NEW CASTLE COUNTY, DELAWARE (6/7/2016) A 21-year-old Wilmington man has been charged in Monday’s robbery at Artisans’ Bank in Milltown as well as four other recent armed robberies, Delaware State Police said today.

Joseph A. Rosado entered the Artisans’ branch at 4901 Kirkwood Highway about 1:50 p.m., approached two female tellers, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from their cash drawers, police said.

Both tellers turned over an undisclosed amount of money and he fled to a waiting car but had locked himself out, police said, and then fled on foot.

He was apprehended a short time later after being involved in a foot pursuit with a New Castle County police officer in the development of Limestone Acres. Evidence was located on Rosado linking him to the robbery of the bank, police said.

Joseph Rosado was charged with 6 counts of Robbery 1st Degree, 6 counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, 6 counts of Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, and Criminal Mischief.

He was committed to  Young Correctional Institution for lack of $501,100.00 secured bail.

Cigarette Outlet, 757 Pulaski Highway, Bear, on Saturday, May 21, 2016 and Tuesday, May 25, 2016.
Shell, 2501 Newport Gap Pike, on Thursday, May 26, 2016.
