NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (1/30/2016) A Dunkin’ Donuts shop was robbed at gunpoint early Saturday along U.S. 13 near New Castle, the Delaware State Police said.
The robbery at 201 S. DuPont Highway was reported at 1:49 a.m.
Three men confronted an 18-year-old clerk, with one of the robbers climbing over the counter and demanding cash from the registers.
Police said the manager was forced to open a register as one of the robbers acted as a lookout. The drive-thru clerk also turned over cash from her register as well as her wallet.
The three robbers fled around the west side of the store. Police said there were no injuries.
The robbers were described as black and 20-27 years old. Two wore dark jackets over hooded sweatshirts and dark pants. The third was thin with a black jacket and grey hooded sweatshirt. Their faces were covered and they had handguns.
