NEWPORT, DELAWARE (12/2/2015) A 15-year-old boy was in serious condition after being struck by a car while he was riding a bicycle west of Newport, authorities said today.
The accident happened about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of W. Newport Pike (Route 4).
The boy was treated at the scene for head, upper extremity and lower extremity injuries, said Senior Cpl. Abigail E. Haas of New Castle County paramedics.
He was then taken to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.
Delaware State Police are investigating the accident.
