

STANTON, DELAWARE (12/1/2015) A 39-year-old Newark man was arrested on drug charges late Monday night after a traffic stop in Stanton, Delaware State Police reported today.
The incident happened about 10:40 p.m. on Route 7 just north of Churchmans Road.
Police said Kermit M. Hilton was stopped after troopers and probation officers stopped a 2006 Honda Odyssey for failing to use a turn signal.
After smelling marijuana odor coming from the vehicle, police said, a search found 549 grams of pot and more than $56,000 in suspected drug proceeds.
Hilton was charged with possession of marijuana in a tier 1 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic offenses. He was released after posting $15,100 secured bail.
