NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (11/21/2015) A man fled empty-handed after two robbery attempts outside the Walmart store at 117 Wilton Blvd., the Delaware State Police reported this evening.
The attempts happened about 9:15 p.m. Friday.
The man pointed a handgun at a 67-year-old woman as she was loading her car with merchandise, police said. He demanded money but she said she didn’t have any. She then ran back into the store and called police.
Moments later, the man walked to a nearby bus stop, sat next to a 34-year-old woman and showed the handgun, demanding cash. She also told him she didn’t have any.

Police said the man obtained no cash from either victim and no one was injured.
