STANTON, DELAWARE (11/16/2015) A man and woman have been charged with the theft of packages from a home after a video showing the theft was posted online, New Castle County police said Sunday.
William Barnett, 49, and Christine Rust, 41, both of the 700 block of Eighth Ave. in the Murray Manor Mobile Home Park, were arrested Friday.
The surveillance video posted on the county police Facebook page showed two people using a red Kia Soul removing two packages from the porch of a home, placing them in the vehicle and leaving the area.
After the video posting and images were sent on the county police Twitter account, a tip was received about the vehicle riding around the Delpark Manor neighborhood.

Officers learned Barnett was the owner of the Kia and had pawned a stolen item, Cpl. Tracey Duffy said.
Police took Barnett and Rust into custody at their home, and a search found items taken from the victim’s house, Duffy said.
Both were charged with theft $1,500 or greater, conspiracy in the second degree and criminal trespass in the third degree. Barnett also was charged with selling stolen property.
He was released on $12,001 unsecured bond. Rust was released on $4,001 unsecured bond.
