Cops: Woman hid heroin under neighbor’s house

DOVER, DELAWARE (11/1/2015) A 24-year-old woman hid heroin under a neighbor’s house so her parole officers wouldn’t find it, Delaware State Police said today.

Emily A. Romero, of the first block of Fairlane Drive, off Kitts Hummock Road east of Dover, was charged around 5:15 p.m. Saturday with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia after the neighbor called 911.

Police said troopers found a black plastic bag behind the weather skirting of the neighbor’s home contained 21 hypodermic needles and 1,311 bags of heroin weighing more than 19 grams.

Romero had a previous drug arrest, police said.

She was being held at Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution near New Castle in lieu of  $50,250 cash bond.
