Man struck by car in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DELAWARE (10/13/2015) A man suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a car as he was walking in Wilmington this morning, according to reports from the scene.

The accident happened about 6:15 a.m. in the 200 block of E. Front St., on the curve leading to North Walnut Street.

The area was closed as city police investigated, with backups reported 90 minutes after the crash.

The Oldsmobile Alero that struck the man remained at the scene.

New Castle County paramedics treated the pedestrian, who was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.
