DOVER, DELAWARE (6/18/2015) A woman came up empty handed in two robbery attempts south of Dover, Delaware State Police said Wednesday.
The first happened about 6 p.m. Tuesday, when the robber approached a 41-year-old woman in the parking lot of the Route 10 Plaza shopping center at 1151 E. Lebanon Road.
The robber first asked for directions to the hospital, then grabbed the victim by the arm, implied she had a weapon under her shirt and demanded money. The victim fled without giving her any.
A few minutes later, the same woman tried to rob a 17-year-old employee at the Subway Restaurant in the shopping center, police said. She grabbed the teen girl by the arm, implied she had a weapon and demanded money. The teen refused and the woman fled.
No one was injured in the incidents.
The robber was described as white, about 35 years old, 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-8, weighing 140-160 pounds and with dark hair. She was wearing light colored shorts and a T-shirt.
