PRICES CORNER, DELAWARE (6/17/2015) Two people were taken to a hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Route 141 north of Prices Corner, Delaware State Police said today.

The accident happened about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Faulkland Road and Centre Road (Route 141).

Brandon G. Beard, 21, of Oxford, Pennsylvania, was driving a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck eastbound on Faulkland and made a left turn directly into the path of two westbound vehicles, police said.

His vehicle was struck by a 2007 Kia Sorento, driven by Alexis M. Reese, 18, of Wilmington, and a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV, driven by Marquis N. Martin, 18, of Philadelphia.

A passenger in Beard’s vehicle, Billie J. Guinn, 48, of Nottingham, Pennsylvania, was ejected from the pickup, landing in the southbound lanes of Route 141.

Beard’s vehicle spun around and continued westbound, striking a pedestrian crossing sign before coming to a stop.

After the initial impact, the Trailblazer struck a 2008 Toyota which was driven by Diane G. Cathell, 47, of Wilmington, and which had been stopped in the left-hand turn lane of southbound Route 141.

Guinn, who was not wearing a seat belt when the crash happened, was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital and admitted for injuries police said were not life-threatening.

Beard also was taken by ambulance to Christiana and admitted with injuries police said were not life-threatening.

Police didn’t know if Beard was wearing a seat belt. He was cited by troopers for disregarding a traffic control device and not having an insurance card in his possession.
