Driver charged with DUI after Harrington crash

HARRINGTON, DELAWARE (6/5/2015) A 25-year-old man  was charged with DUI after crashing his car into a parked vehicle, Harrington police said today.

The accident happened about 10:20 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of U.S. 13 (South DuPont Highway) and Route 14 (Milford-Harrington Highway).

Police said Eric N. Roberts, of the 3300 block of Brownsville Road west of Harrington, was westbound on Route 14 when he crossed over the northbound lanes of U.S. 13, struck a curb and then went into the Royal Farms gas station parking lot, hitting the parked vehicle.

Roberts was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving, unreasonable speed and other traffic offenses, Lt. Earl Brode said.

Brode said Roberts was turned over to a family member pending a future court appearance.

No one was injured in the crash.
