GEORGETOWN, DELAWARE (4/24/2015) A fire heavily damaged a home and attached garage west of Georgetown, authorities said.
The blaze was reported at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 14000 block of Fleetwood Pond Road.
Georgetown firefighters found heavy flames in the garage and home when they arrived, said Harry R. Miller, chief deputy state fire marshal.
The fire also damaged several vehicles, including an RV.
Miller said the fire started in the area of a lawn mower inside the garage. The cause was ruled accidental.
A resident was home at the time but no injuries were reported, Miller said.
Damage was estimated at $150,000.
Georgetown firefighters were assisted by others from Blades, Seaford, Laurel, Ellendale, Bridgeville, and Millsboro in extinguishing the fire.
