MILFORD, DELAWARE (4/20/2015) A Milford man has been charged with assaulting and threatening an elderly woman, city police reported today.
Detective Dwight Young said the assault happened about 7 p.m. on April 13 at 5 Linstone Lane.
Joseph Merix, 52, allegedly punched a 67-year-old woman in the head and face numerous times during an argument while threatening to kill her.
Merix was charged with assault, causing physical injury to a victim age 62 or older and terroristic threatening. He was being held in Sussex Correctional Institution near Georgetown in lieu of $6,000 secured bond, Young said.
