14-year-old arrested in bike store burglary

Wilmington police logoWILMINGTON, DELAWARE (4/17/2015) A 14-year-old boy was arrested when officers found him riding a bicycle stolen from the Trolley Bikes store, city police reported Thursday.

A  front window was broken about 10:35 p.m. Tuesday to get into the store at 1606 Delaware Ave.

Police determined three boys removed bikes from the store and fled.

A 14-year-old riding a pink bike stolen from the store was found on Washington Street a short time later and taken into custody. He was charged with burglary, conspiracy, theft under $1,500 and criminal mischief and released on $5,000 unsecured bail. The other two remain at large.

The same business also was burglarized about 2:15 a.m. Sunday, with front windows broken out and property taken. Police have made no arrests in that incident.
