Teen pleads guillty in shooting after Middletown High game

MIDDLETOWN, DELAWARE (4/16/15) A 16-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to charges in connection with a shooting that followed a Middletown High School football game on Sept. 5, authorities reported today.

Two teenagers on East Lake Street were shot following an altercation during the game.

Brandon Pendergast, of Townsend, shot the teens while he was riding in a van, said Carl Kanefsky, spokesman for the Delaware Department of Justice.

He said Pendergast pleaded guilty in Superior Court to second-degree assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorneys General Jamie McCloskey and Caterina Gatto.
