
BEAR, DELAWARE (4/12/2015) A man was stabbed when he refused to turn over his cellphone and money to a robber near the Rutledge development, Delaware State Police reported Saturday.
The incident happened about 9 a.m. Friday as the 43-year-old victim was walking on the shoulder of Red Lion Road (Route 71).
The robber had approached the victim from a nearby tree line, police said.
The victim was stabbed with an unknown sharp object before the robber fled empty-handed toward U.S. 13.
The robber was described as black, about 22 years old and weighing 120 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, police said.
The victim was treated at Christiana Hospital for a minor cut to his upper body and released.
