Employees flee Pizza Hut, thwarting robbery

DSP logoNEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (3/28/2015) A masked gunman fled empty-handed when employees at a Pizza Hut restaurant near New Castle left the store when he tried to rob it, state police said.

The robbery attempt happened about 8:20 p.m. Thursday in Beaver Brook Plaza, off U.S. 13.

The robber demanded money from a 19-year-old man working at the restaurant, but he along with two other employees fled the restaurant and no one was injured.

The robber, carrying a handgun, was described as black and 6-feet-1 to 6-feet-2.
