DELAWARE (1/25/2015) A nor’easter may bring up to a foot of snow to northern Delaware by Tuesday morning, forecasters say, with only slightly less predicted for downstate.
Some snow is expected to arrive in time for the Monday morning commute, but the heavier snow is expected later Monday and into Tuesday.
The National Weather Service says there is still uncertainty as to the exact track of the storm and its strength, but predictions range for 6 to 12 inches of snow for northern Delaware and 4 to 10 for the southern end of the state. The storm also may bring a foot or more of snow to northern New Jersey and New England on Monday night.
A winter storm watch was issued for Delaware and nearby areas from Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning.
Winds gusting to 40 mph may cause drifts and limit visibility to a quarter mile at times.
