With snow approaching, more schools dismissing early

School busDELAWARE (1/21/2015) With a storm approaching that may dump up to 4 inches of snow on the northern half of the state, more schools will be dismissing early.

Appoquinimink School District announced  secondary schools (Grades 6-12) will dismiss at 11:25 a.m., elementary (Preschool-Grade 5) will dismiss at 12:25 p.m. Adult Continuing Ed., the Twilight Program and district-sponsored clubs, practices, meetings and other activities are also canceled.

Brandywine School District will dismiss high schools at 11:15, middle schools at noon and elementary schools at 12:45.  All after-school and evening activities and events will be canceled. There will be no afternoon ECAP or Bush preschool programs today.

Christina School District also announced early dismissals at various times.

Colonial School District announced William Penn, Wallace Wallin and all middle schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. All elementary schools will dismiss at 1:30 p.m. Afternoon preschool has been canceled and there will be no after-school activities.

New Castle County Vocational Technical schools will dismiss at 1:15 p.m. All after-school and adult evening programs, including Apprenticeship and Technical Training classes, are canceled.

Red Clay Consolidated School District said middle and high schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. and elementary schools at 1 p.m.

Caravel Academy as well as many other private and charter schools also are dismissing early.
