MILTON, DELAWARE (1/21/2015) Nearly 15,000 bags of heroin with a street value of $150,000 were seized after troopers stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 1 east of Milton, state police said this morning. A New Jersey man was arrested.

About 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, troopers smelled marijuana after they stopped a blue Nissan Altima south of Route 16.

Police said the driver, Davon Tucker, 32, of Paterson, New Jersey, produced a plastic bag holding marijuana from the center console.

After searching the car, police said they found a blue plastic bag containing clear freezer bags stamped “Troy 100” in the trunk, with smaller bags inside containing heroin.

Tucker was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of marijuana with an aggravated factor, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended or revoked and speeding. He was being held at Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $122,601 cash bail.

A 29-year-old woman who was a passenger was not charged.
