SOUTH ST. GEORGES, DELAWARE (1/10/2015) Fire destroyed a house under construction in the Crossland at the Canal development, investigators said today.
The fire broke out just before 4 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Georgiana Drive.
The home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, said Michael Chionchio, assistant state fire marshal.
There was exposure damage to a home next door, he said.
The state Fire Marshal’s Office is still trying to determine how the fire started.
The home was near completion, Chionchio said.
No one was at the home when the fire broke out, he said.
