STANTON, DELAWARE (12/16/2014) An 86-year-old Newark woman died following a single-vehicle crash this morning in Stanton, state police said.
The victim was identified as Mary A. Frisbie, who was driving in the 4900 block of Ogletown Stanton Road, where the vehicle crashed into a utility pole about 9:45 a.m.
Police said Frisbie was westbound in a 2000 Dodge Stratus east of the Route 4 and Old Churchmans Road intersection when the car went off the road for unknown reason.
Frisbie was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital nearby and pronounced dead a short time later.
Her husband, Arthur Frisbie, 95, was also taken to Christiana for treatment of minor injuries, authorities said.
Both were wearing seat belts, police said.
State police are still investigating the crash.
