PIKE CREEK VALLEY, DELAWARE (12/01/2014) One person was injured and two townhomes destroyed when fire broke out at the Green Valley town houses just south of Capitol Trail (State Route 2) this afternoon.
The fire was reported about 1:16 p.m. in the first block of Lower Valley Lane.
According to preliminary reports from the scene, a car that was attempting to park hit a gas meter outside one of the townhomes, setting off the blaze. The driver apparently escaped unharmed.
Emergency crews from Mill Creek Fire Company responded to the blaze, between Harmony Road and Delaware Park, and one occupant of a home was being treated at the scene.
