WOODSIDE, DELAWARE (7/21/2016) A 21-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash east of Woodside this morning, Delaware State Police said.
Police said Nathaniel P. Benton, of Magnolia, was southbound on Peachtree Run sometime between midnight and 7:40 a.m. and failed to stop for the stop sign at Irish Hill Road.
He continued straight across Irish Hill Road into a soybean field and was ejected from the bike.
A friend located the crash site this morning after Benton failed to return home, police said.
Benton, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers are still investigating and police said alcohol may have been a factor.
The intersection was closed about two hours while police investigated and the wreckage was cleared.
