2 sought in arson attempt at Saddlebrook town houses

Attempted arson was reported in the 100 block of Freedom Trail west of New Castle.

NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE (1/6/2019) A man and a teenage boy are being sought in an attempted arson at the Saddlebrook town houses west of New Castle, authorities said.

Three people were inside a home in the 100 block of Freedom Trail when the pair attempted to ignite a liquid with an odor similar to gasoline about 11 p.m. Friday, said Michael G. Chionchio, assistant state fire marshal.

The pair fled before igniting the poured liquid when they were confronted by an occupant of the home.

The man being sought is described as 35-40 years old, 6-feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and a black mask.

The teen was described as 5-feet-5 and about 175 pounds. He also was wearing all black clothing, and a mask that depicted a skull.
