
FARMINGTON, DELAWARE (10/2/2015) A tractor-trailer driver thought he had hit a deer and kept going after fatally striking a man walking in the roadway of U.S. 13 east of Farmington, Delaware State Police said Thursday.
The fatal accident happened about 10:25 p.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes near Main Street. The victim was identified as Jay P. Grove III, 36, of Harrington.
Harrington police located the 2010 International BTM tractor-trailer which had front-bumper damage in the parking lot of the Best Ace Hardware at 3000 Midway Drive, off U.S. 13 in Harrington.
The driver, Rodrick R. Irving, 37 of Adelanto, California, and a male passenger were interviewed by police, who said no charges are expected.
