NEW GARDEN TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA (6/12/2015) Delaware firefighters joined others from Chester County battling a two-alarm house fire this afternoon, aggravated by scorching heat and humidity, according to reports from the scene.
The fire at 9 St. Davids Court was reported about 1 p.m.
Initially reported with people trapped in the home, New Garden Township police were able to get the occupants out before firefighters arrived. One person was reported treated at the scene.
Flames were going through the roof when local firefighters arrived.
As a second alarm was sounded, firefighters from Hockessin, Mill Creek and Cranston Heights in Delaware were called in to help. Other Delaware fire companies also were covering for various fire companies in Chester County that had been called out to fight the house blaze.
At 2:25 p.m., the fire still had not been declared under control.
